MHS Esports Program — Fall 2026 Tryouts Now Open
Dear Milpitas High School Students and Families,
My name is Steven Martinez and I am the Program Lead for the MHS Esports Program. I am excited to announce that tryouts for our Fall 2026 competitive season are now open to all MHS students, as well as students attending Calaveras Hills and Middle College.
The MHS Esports Program competes through PlayVS and CIF in organized scholastic leagues across five titles: Valorant, Marvel Rivals, Rocket League, Street Fighter 6, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. More titles may be added in the future pending student interest and league offering! This is a sanctioned athletic program with formal rosters, structured practices, and a full season of competition.

Students interested in trying out should complete our tryout interest form at the link below. There is plenty of information included such as the season calendar and weekly practice schedule. We are also in need of student leaders that are interested in being Team Captain, so please indicate this on the form!

- Monday, Aug 31 | Valorant | 4:00 – 6:00 PM
- Tuesday, Sep 1 | Marvel Rivals | 4:00 – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Sep 2 | Rocket League, Street Fighter 6, Smash Bros. Ultimate | 4:00 – 5:30 PM
- Thursday, Sep 3 | Makeup / Overflow (by request) | 4:00 – 6:00 PM
We will be hosting our Fall Kickoff event from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Innovation Campus. A formal orientation for prospective athletes and their families will begin at 6:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the program, meet the coaching and leadership staff, and ask questions. Parents are highly encouraged to attend.
