⛱️ Participate in the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge! 📚

Posted Date: 05/29/26 (11:26 AM)

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

You are all invited to participate in our 2nd annual Milpitas High School Library Summer Reading ChallengeNow through September 1st, read five books of your choice to complete this bingo board and earn fun prizes (including ice cream sandwiches and advanced reader’s copies of new books). Copies of the bingo board are now available in the MHS Library.

How it works:
✅ Choose any five books you’d like to read this summer.
✅ Fill in your bingo card as you read.
✅ Submit your completed bingo card to the MHS Library by September 1st to earn your prize(s)!

Stop by TODAY during lunch for your chance to sign-up for the public library reading challenge as well! Ms. Ruby Leo, the Milpitas Library Teen Services Librarian, will be giving out goodies just for signing up! Earn twice the prizes for all your reading this summer!

Whether you’re at the beach, traveling, or relaxing at home, this is the perfect chance to explore new stories and expand your imagination. You may complete this challenge by staying in your reading zone (sticking to your favorite genre) or expanding your reading horizons (checking out new authors and new books).

Browse this suggested reading list for ideas about what books you may read for each BINGO category. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the document for additional ways to discover fantastic summer reads. As you plan your summer reading, consider reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir which is our 2026 staff summer book club and our “One School, One Book” selection for 2026-2027!

Let’s make this summer a celebration of books!

Happy Reading,
Mia Gittlen
