 General Reminders:

Yesterday was “My Mom Made Me Wear This” day, and today is Blue and Gold day!!! Remember that in order to be counted for the spirit day, you must have either one main article of clothing or 3 accessories! Dressing up gets your class spirit points, which will be counted towards the winner of the spirit trophy.  

 

Winners of today’s spirit day will be announced the day we get back from out ski break! Remember to turn in your raffle tickets for a chance to win a mystery prize!

                                             

Do you want to make a difference? Are you interested in being involved in school activities? Commissioner Packets and 2nd Period Leadership Packets are out! Pick up one in J17 or check your email. They are due on March 10 for Commissioner and March 17 for 2nd Period. Additional information will be on the packets! Hurry and sign up!


Do you like milk tea?! Do you like movies?! Start off your Valentine's break right and come enjoy both, with the Milpitas Thespian society on February 12th at 7pm in the theater! Bring money to buy delicious snacks -including milk tea from Tpumps- and beautiful red roses for that special someone, or yourself! Enjoy watching The Fault in our Stars and Tangled for free! YOU DONT NEED TICKETS! Just show up and enjoy the show! Everyone is welcome! 

 

Attention all students! There is an opportunity for you to take a Career Exploration Test here at MHSl. This test is offered at no cost for our 9th-12th graders. This test can help you take steps toward finding a career that's right for you. Sign up in the College and Career Center & pick up your permission slip packet. There are 70 open spots, first come first serve.

Do you want to spread your ideas and change other people's view of the world? Sign up to be a speaker for the 2016 TEDxMilpitasHighSchool conference tentatively scheduled for April . This year's theme is: Back to the Drawing Board. Go to our Facebook page: TEDxMilpitasHighSchool or check your emails for the link to apply. We encourage students and staff to sign up. The deadline to sign up is February 27, 2016.  

 

There is a CATT Meeting TODAY, February 12th during lunch in Room E-3. Remember to turn in your permission slips for the youth decoy operations and internship opportunity. CATT stands for Community Advocate Teens of Today, a youth advocacy group that works on decreasing the harmful effects caused by smoking. If you need community service hours, are interested in training opportunities, and want to make a difference in your community, CATT is the club for you!

 

ATHLETICS:

Today is the last home game for Varsity girl’s basketball! Girl’s basketball today will be against Homestead, 3:15 for Junior Varsity and 6:15 for Varsity. Girl’s soccer will not be at home, but they are playing against Homestead as well at 3:30.

 

Attention all Trojan Athletic Fans! There are 2 more senior nights TONIGHT!!! Be sure to come out to support your Varsity Boys Soccer team as they try to clutch a win vs Monta Vista this Friday at 3:30 pm. Shortly after, the Boys Varsity Basketball team will take on Gunn High School at 7:45 pm! Goooooo Trojans!

General Reminders:

 

Yesterday was GI Joe vs. Barbie day! In fourth place came the Freshmen with 89 dressed, third were the Juniors with 147 dressed, second were the Seniors with 157 dressed, and in first place came the SOPHOMORES with 187 dressed!

 

Today is “My Mom Made Me Wear This” day!!! Don’t forget to show all your Trojan spirit for Blue and Gold day TOMORROW! Remember that in order to be counted for the spirit day, you must have either one main article of clothing or 3 accessories! Dressing up gets your class spirit points, which will be counted towards the winner of the spirit trophy.  

 

During spirit counting this whole week in SSR, students who dress up for the spirit day will be given a raffle ticket and a chance to win a mystery prize!!! Winners from yesterday’s GI Joe vs. Barbie Day are Amanda Cullen, Amanda Jimenez, Joshua Alimpia, and Israel Medina!  Winners can pick up their prize in J17 during Lunch! Please bring an ID card to receive your prize! Also, don’t forget to dress up for Blue and Gold day tomorrow!!!!

It's your last chance for some Blind Date Book Love...stop by the library this week and read the "personal book ad" for one of the books and take one home today.  Or check out some new titles that have just arrived (no blind dating involved).  A rainy (or snowy) February break is the perfect time to catch up on some fun reading.

Are you looking for a way to celebrate the end of the 2017 school year?  Wanna explore Europe's Mediterranean coast?  If so, we have the trip for you!  Come find out about a new trip offering to Spain, France and Italy happening in June 2017.  We will be visiting Barcelona, the French Riviera, the Cinque Terre on the Italian coast and the fashion capital of Milan!  Our first informational meeting is this Thursday at lunch in Room H3.  That's Thursday, Feb. 11 in H3 at lunch.  You can also get info from Madame Topping, Mrs. Chavez, and Mr. McQuigg.  All students are welcome!

You can enter solo or as a team of two.  Pick up an application and get more details in G-3 by this Friday.  Applications also on the school website.  All applications are due by February 24th so don't delay.

General Reminders:

Signups for Trojan Olympics end TODAY, February 10th! You can sign up in J17 or online at bit.ly/class ”your class” TO! (tee-oh) For example, seniors would sign up at bit.ly/2 0 1 6 capital T Capital O You will only be allowed to sign up once! 

 

Yesterday was STOPLIGHT DAY!!! In fourth place came the freshmen with 163 dressed, third was the seniors with 241 dressed, second was the juniors with 244 dressed, and in first place the SOPHOMORES with 273 people dressed!

Also, don’t forget to ask your mom to choose your outfit for “My mom made we wear this to school” day  TOMORROW, and show your Trojan spirit on Friday by wearing blue and gold! Seniors! Today you should get your "Senior Mosts" nomination forms from your English teachers. Please fill them out and return them by the next day. If necessary, you can also pick up a form in J7!

Spring Sports Make Up Parent Athlete Meeting will be this Wednesday, February 10th @ 7:00 PM (and it will be the Last Meeting)!!

 

There will be a Boys Soccer game @ Cupertino today at 3:30. Girl’s Soccer is home today vs Los Gatos . Junior Varsity plays at 4 and Varsity will play at 6. There will we a boys basketball game at Los Gatos, Junior Varsity is at 5:30 and Varsity is at 7:00.
